Overall: Mixed quarter. I want to be honest with Maria about where the work has been below bar, so we can address it together.
What didn't work this quarter:
- Three of the five projects on Maria's plate slipped past their committed dates by more than a week. In two of those cases, the slips were not communicated until the deadline had passed.
- Code review turnaround time has been the slowest on the team (median 36 hours vs team median of 9).
What I'd like to see next quarter:
- Commit dates that are realistic from the start, with clear escalation when a date is going to slip.
- Code review turnaround under 12 hours.
What I'd commit to from my side: weekly 1:1s instead of biweekly, and a clearer set of priorities so it's easier to know what to focus on. I want to see this turn around. I think it can.
